EMIL KRAEPELIN.
Kraepelin presentó una tesis en Munich (1877) sobre el Lugar de la psicología en la psiquiatría, ante un tribunal presidido por Von Gudden, a quien sirivió como ayudante durante cuatro años. Fue nombrado en 1886 profesor de psiquiatría de la Universidad de Dorpat (Estonia), pero dejó este puesto, encargándose posteriormente, en Munich (1903), de la cátedra de psiquiatría y asumiendo la dirección de la nueva clínica universitaria, la Königlische Psychiatrische Klinik que, debido a su impulso, adquirió fama internacional. En la primavera de 1918, se transformó en el Instituto Alemán de Investigaciones Psiquiátricas, cuya existencia, amenazada por la crisis económica de la posguerra, fue salvada gracias al apoyo financiero de la Fundación Rockefeller, algunos meses antes de la muerte de Kraepelin, en 1926.
Kraepelin presented a thesis in Munich (1877) about the place of Psychology in Psychiatry, in the presence of a court presided by V. G., to whom he served as a helper for four years. He was named in 1886 professor of Psych. Of Dorpat University, but he left this position, taking care afterwards, in Munich (1903), of the professorship of psychiatry and assuming the direction of the new university clinic the Königlische Psychiatrische Klinik, which, due to its impulse, acquired international recognition. In the spring of 1918, it was turned into the Instituto Alemán de Investigaciones Psiquiátricas, which existence, threatened by the economic crisis in the post-war period, was saved because of the economic support of the Fundación Rockefeller, a few months before the death of Kraepelin, in 1926.
ALAN E. KAZDIN.
Alan E. Kazdin es profesor de Psicología y Psiquiatría infantil en la Universidad de Yale, además de ser el director del centro parental de dicha universidad. Es autor de 49 libros, dirigidos a un público experto en temas parentales, de crianzas de niños, psicoterapia infantil, cognitiva, de formas de comportamiento y violencia interpersonal. Destacar, también, que su trabajo ha sido traducido a numerosos idiomas en todo el mundo y que, en el año 2008, fue presidente de la Asociación Americana de Psicología.
Alan E. Kazdin is a professor of child psychology and psychiatry at Yale University, as well as being he director of the parenting center of this university. He is the author of 49 books, for professional-audiences on topics of parenting and child rearing, child psychotherapy, cognitive and behavioral treatments, and interpersonal violence. It is worth mentioning too that his work has been translated into several languages all over the world and that, in 2008, he was president of the American Psychological Association.
RICHARD JESSOR.
Este autor es un distinguido catedrático de Ciencias del Comportamiento en la Universidad de Colorado, Boulder. Es también, uno de los fundadores del Instituto de las Ciencias del Comportamiento (1959), de la universidad comentada anteriormente. Desempeñó el cargo de subdirector (1980-2001) y actualmente dirige un Programa de Salud y Sociedad. Durante los últimos 57 años ha sido, además, profesor en el Departamento de Psicología y es el miembro de la facultad con una mayor trayectoria en la universidad. De 1987 a 1997, dirigió una fundación sobre el desarrollo exitoso de adolescentes y jóvenes-adultos. Jessor, ha escrito más de 130 publicaciones, incluyendo 10 libros. En 2003, fue nombrado “un investigador altamente citado” y, en 2005, recibió el destacado premio de la Sociedad para Medicina Adolescente.
This author is a distinguished professor of Behaviour Sciences at the Uni. Of Colorado, Bo. He is also, one of the founders of the Behaviour Sciences Institute (1959), of the university mentioned before. He had the position of subdirector (1980-2001) and nowadays he runs a health and society program. Besides, during the last 57 years he was a professor in the Psychology Department and he is the member of the university with the longest career in the university. From 1987 to 1997, he ruled a foundation about the successful development of teenagers and young adult. Jessor has written more than 130 publications, including 10 books. In 2003, he was named a "Highly Cited Researcher2 and, in 2005, he received the Outstanding Achievement in Adolescent Medicine Award.
